Hearts = Hugs...

Welcome to another Inspiration Tuesday with By LORi Designs! Today I'm showing you a sweet new image called HEART STAND, how stinkin cute is this???! It features 2 pj's and a sloo of bld critters and animals! So sweet!

I printed this adorable digi off onto some Beckett Expression paper and went to town with my copics and prismacolor pencils! Can you say HAND CRAMP? Lol....I had so much fun colouring this up! I wanted to keep the image the main focus of the card so I didn't add any big embellishments or extra sentiments. It kinda speaks for itself....not sure if I'll be able to part with it!

Make sure you swing by the BLD Blog to see what the talented designers have to show you today! Its definately inspiring!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

More clay creations!

So I promised the kids (and hubby) I'd post some of their favourite clay creations that they've made. I have to say I'm impressed with their creativity and more impressed at the fact my husband actually sat down and put his artistic mind to work (how can you say no to your kids?...lol). Ok, here goes!

Breakfast of champions? Love it!

Oh, he refused to use any of my new molds...he thinks thats cheating....pfft whatevs...

Once I was done snappin' all the pics, my son (who's almost 10) said he needed to take some of his own....he had a vision...lol...he even picked out the backdrop paper! I was quite impressed, he may have an eye for photography!

Too cute! I can't believe he made that wand out of clay! We are having a blast playing, the possibilities are endless and its a great way to keep everyone happy!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I'll be back tomorrow with a new card for Inspiration Tuesday with By Lori Designs! Have a great day!

ROCK your paints!!!!

Since my office is back in order, I've had a chance to go through some boxes we still haven't unpacked since moving here. I came across a bunch of rocks that I painted around the time my son was born (about 10 years ago)....I loooove painting! I'd find cool shaped rocks and paint them into houses. I even made little nativity scenes on tiny rocks but gave them away as gifts and didn't get any pictures of them (waaah!). They make great paperweights...lol! I have sold some but here is a little sample of my favourites:

We put the Haunted House out every year at Halloween!

This one is roughly the size of the top of a tootsie pop sucker!

The chimneys are formed using wood filler, then, when dry (which takes no time at all), you can paint right over it!

Its a great activity to do with the kids (very inexpensive) and the hunt for the perfect rock is sometimes the best part!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

Now thats a pink tutu!

I've had this image in my possession since the beginning of December and have just been able to colour her up thanks to my new office/crafty space! It was a long stretch of having all my work stuff unorganized and all over the place. But I've finally completed my new office and feel like I'm back in the saddle again!

I'm sure you've all seen the relatively new DigiShop/Blog of Saturated Canary. There are a ton of cute and funky girly (and boyish) images! This one in particular spoke to me, since it truly looks bang-on to my daughter when she's dressed up in her tinkerbell costume with her bright pink hello kitty tutu underneath, along with some legwarmers and a side pony! No joke. So I coloured it up as close as possible to my little 'whispy' fairy. Yep, her tutu really is that pink!

I'm entering this into the current challenge over at the SATURATED CANARY BLOG. The challenge is to use dies or punches. I used my brand new nestabilities scallop border die for my card and kept it pretty simple to keep 'Whispy' the main attraction. I've posted a photo of the copics I used to colour her up. I added some stardust stickles to her wings, skirt and shoes and also some rhinestones on the tulle of her skirt. I cut her out and adhered her to the card base with some 3D pop dots. My trusty bow-easy effortlessly made the double bow and I added a few pearl embellishments to finish it off.

Other challenges I'm entering:

The Pink Elephant - Photo Inspiration (the cupcake pic caught my eye :)

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Happy Highlights

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. Have a good one!

Smile.....

Welcome to another Inspiration Tuesday with By LORi Designs! Today I'm showing you a sweet new PuddleJumper named Party Time Gabbi, and well, she just makes me smile!

I've had that rhinestone 'smile' embellishment (by Glitz) for ever! You know when you see something you just have to have because you know there will be that perfect project that will come along one day? That day came and I wasted no time pulling it out of my bin of embellishments that I don't use - just ooogle over...lol. I coloured PJ Gabbi with pink hair and a pretty turquoise party dress with copic markers, cut her out and stuck her to a white card base. I tied some white embroidery thread from the balloon to her her hand (since I cut her out and to add some more interest). I added the embellishment and voila! Clean and simple....just the way I like it!

I hope you swing by and check out the other Designers over at By LORi Designs. There's lots of wonderful inspiration goin around over there. And maybe a few new-'new' images available!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

YouTube anyone?

So I've decided to post my very first video tutorial on YouTube! Yep I did it. Well, its more of a a picture-video-slide-movie thingy which has a step by step guide to colour up the face and hair on the cutie below!

I did this card (featuring "Gifts of Giving" Stamp by Penny Black Stamps) a while back for a class I did at Scrappin' Great Deals. I get alot of people ask me how I colour the face and hair. So I tried playing around with my movie-maker software (addictive) and came up with something from the handouts I give in my classes. Being my first one please go easy on me, I'm just having a little bit of fun and actually following through with things I've always said I've wanted to do...(and I don't even make new year's resolutions).

Enjoy!

A Puddle Jumper meets Polymer clay....and a sweet haul...

So the clay craze is still alive in our house! I went on a little cyber quest for some clay molds and I found a great little Etsy Shop called Miniature Sweet! They have everything covered for your clay needs. If you are into polymer clay/molds you HAVE to check this shop out. Their prices are very reasonable and there's always a free little gift involved...how can one resist? Oh and it only took 8 days to ship all the way from Hong Kong! Anyway, here's my haul: I ordered a 3d cupcake and ice cream mold, biscuit, mini chocolate, teeny tiny bows, and I got the popsicle mold for free for ordering 5 molds! I also got a baggie full of clay canes as a thank you! Too cool! Here's how my first 3d ice cream cone turned out:I also did something a bit different with the clay and made a little figurine featuring Puddle Jumper Baby Jackson from By LORi Designs! (Little disclaimer: a special commercial licence was obtained for making this. Always make sure you obtain permission, get a copy of the copyright/angel policy, or get a licence from the artist before you create anything using their work. Check out this website for more info: STAMP OUT and By LORi Designs). Anyway I thought it would be cute to have Baby Jackson holding a giant cookie (from my new biscuit mold)! Here'a card I did a while back (one of my favourites). So I started noodling around with the clay and this is what I came up with...

I'm in the process of finding the perfect little package to wrap him up and ship him to his new home in KY!

We had fun creating, most of which are still waiting to be painted or baked. My un-artistic husband (as he refers to himself) even sat down with us and made a few things. That post is coming...fyi...he is pretty crafty if I do say so myself!
Anyway just wanted to share some fun stuff! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Polymer clay....yay!!!

Woo hoo, my first post of 2012! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's! This isn't my typical 'card post', but I had to share some stuff I've been doing with the kids over the holiday break!

So my daughter and I were surfin' You Tube for crafty stuff and we came across a sloo of videos on how to make polymer clay charms. She was SO excited about all the little tiny cakes, icecream cones, dolls, flowers, cupcakes etc...that she asked if we could make some. How could I say no to that sweet little face and a possible shopping trip? We got lots of inspiration from watching Here, Here and Here (for starters)...My favourite blog I've found so far is JOOJOO! Her art is simply amazing! Anyway, this my first attempt at making polymer clay charms...I've dabbled with clay in the past but not to this extent! Its alot of fun!

I've since picked up some tips on how to NOT get fingerprints on your finished piece! My daughter thinks this looks like one of her retro 'Fisher Price' people...
I like the 'unglazed' look better!

So in the middle of taking pictures, Olivia came up and said 'can you take a pic of these ones?'...so here are the ones she chose to post:

She made the Mickey Mouse deco piece and my son made the kleenex box and hamburger...

I have a bunch more but will have to save them for another post. I promised the kids I would dedicate a whole post to their mini masterpieces!

I will be posting some new cards next week! Stay tuned!!! Thanks for stopping by!
