Wowee I'm a Dare Devil!!!

Sorry for the late post, but now I'm here!!! Soooo without further ado, I'd like to share MORE exciting news! IM A DARE DEVIL!!! I'm soo excited! Have you seen this totally cute and amazing challenge blog? WHIMSICAL WEDNESDAYS THE DIEDRICH DARE, is a weekly challenge blog that alternates color challenges with sketch challenges designed by Jessica's cute lil kiddo's! I mean how cute is that??? My 8yr old son looooves to color with me and make cards too so when I was invited to join this team I couldn't resist! A BIG thank you to the girls over at Whimsical Wednesdays The Diedrich Dare, I'm so looking forward to working with all you talented ladies!!!

Here is the sketch for this week designed by Jack!

Being brand spankin new and my first post, I didn't have anything from the sponsor this month which was The Character Cafe, so I chose this little super hero image (from Stamping Bella) in honor of Jack and his amazing sketch!!! Jack - this one's for you!!!

ALSO, a BIG shout out to my friend Andrea who inspired me about a year ago when I dove back into card making! I took one of her classes to see if I could get back into cardmaking after years of only scrapbooking and after like 30 seconds I was hooked again! Seriously she is one of the funniest peeps I know, my favorite 'enabler' (haha), love her sense of humor and mostly her amazing talent!!! You rock girl!

Anyway, you must play along with us Daredevils this week, check out The Dare Devil Designers they are full of amazing talent and inspiring ideas:

Have a great day!

Showcase Monday at The Town Scrapper!

*This is my second post today, for my post on the new challenge at THE PINK ELEPHANT, click HERE!

Yay, Blogger is working again! Phew! Better late than never...ces't la vie!
Today I am showing you a brand new stamp exclusive to The Town Scrapper designed by Victoria Case. This one is called Fishing Evan.

This was the card that I used for the copic demo I did for Phebe's (The Town Scrapper's) event that was held this past Saturday. A quick little shout out to all the ladies that attended. I had a wonderful time meeting you all and had alot of fun! My partner in crime, Melanie also did a fabulous demo and we also got to see Phebe's beautiful watercolour technique! It was a fun filled afternoon, thats for sure!!!

I coloured Fishing Evan with my copics and inked around the edge with some chalk ink. The dp is by Imaginisce and the solid paper is by Bazzill. I kept this card simple as its a manly man card and I don't like adding too much to masculine cards! Everything needed to make this card can be found at Phebe's store The Town Scrapper which is located in Petrolia Ontario!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great week!

A New Challenge at The Pink Elephant!

Wow did that weekend ever fly by!!! Its already Monday again and that means another fabulous challenge over at The Pink Elephant!
With this weeks challenge, the possibilities are endless as you are to use PASTELS in your creation!

This weeks sponsor at TPE is The Cutting Cafe. I used this adorable chick hatching out of its egg 'peeping' out to wish everyone a happy Easter. Which is fast approaching!!!

I coloured the cute lil' chick with my copics and paper pieced the egg. I used some teeny tiny prima flowers in pastel colours and added some teeny tiny brads to the centres. I also used my Martha Stewart flower border punch and added brads in between. I scrounged my ribbon jar and found some fun colors and added some tabs to the top of the image.

I think this turned out to be a sweet little Easter card to give to someone next weekend! Don't forget to swing by The Pink Elephant Blog to see the amazing creations the Design Team has to show you this week! Don't forget to play along too! Its always so much fun ;)

A Friday Challenge!!!

TGIF!!! I think I say that every friday....but its the truth! Today i'm posting for the Friday Challenge over at The Town Scrapper blog, this week's theme is, can you guess?....EASTER!!!

This cute image is one of the new VICTORIA CASE STAMPS created EXCLUSIVELY for THE TOWN SCRAPPER! This one is just perfect for an Easter card!

I coloured most of the image with copics and paper pieced the chick's outfit and the bunny's feet, tummy and ears. I add some flower soft for the grass and scattered some round stickers as 'eggs' in hiding - awaiting to be found! I also added some frosted lace stickles to the egg, leaves and carrot! I used my new Martha Stewart flower border punch, it also punches out the little flowers (makes for perfect embellishments). I added more of the round stickers to the border and a yellow ribbon with a pink button with a bow to finish it all off!

Be sure to head over to The Town Scrapper Blog, check out what the fabulous DT have for you today and play this week for your chance to win a great little prize!

Have a great Weekend!

A sketch challenge at TPE!

Another happy Monday to everybody! Lets get right to it and see what fun we can have this week over at THE PINK ELEPHANT! This weeks challenge is to use this fabulous sketch! I had alot of fun with this one & I tried a new technique....
For my card I used the new image from BabyBudDesigns called Daisy Bud. Isn't she so cute? I coloured her in with my copics and sponged around the edges with some chalk ink while she was still in the circle nestie. I used some great dp from Pink Paislee (pink gingham) and Basic Grey (green floral) and tried to follow the sketch to a T.

I thought it would be fun to try and make some circle paper flowers that I've been seeing in all the magazines I buy...so I gave it a shot. It was pretty easy, only a bit time consuming cutting & crumpling all the little circles. (I did have a crumple helper, thanks Mom!). They hold nicely together with a brad in the middle. I even added a little teeny tiny flower in her hands....that was interesting to do....lol! I loved this sketch, I know you will too!

Be sure to head over to THE PINK ELEPHANT blog to see the gorgeous creations the Design Team has made, you won't be disapointed!

Hope you have a great week! Thanks for stopping by!

New challenge over at The Town Scrapper...& a sneek peek

Its friday! That means a new challenge is starting up over at The Town Scrapper! This week's theme is Ribbons & Rub-ons!

The image I've used this week is a little sneek peek of some new Victoria Case stamps The Town Scrapper will soon be releasing...they are simply adorable!
I used my copic markers to colour and added lots of stickles to the flowers, butterfly, watering can etc...I added a big organza bow (made with my bow-easy of course) and the rub-on is a cute lil sentiment from Prima (My mommy and me collection).

Be sure to hop over to the blog and check out what the fabulous Scrapettes have created, and link up your card for your chance to win a great little prize.

Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

What a happy Monday!!!

I am bursting with excitement and am so happy to be posting today BECAUSE I've been invited by the amazingly talented group over at The Pink Elephant to be a guest designer for the month of April! AND I was lucky enough to get to play along early! I just can't beleive it!!!

I feel so lucky, I'm still doing my little happy dance and want to thank Lori for this amazing opportunity! The Pink Elephant is one of my favorite Challenge Blogs that I just can't ever get enough of, and I'm really looking forward to working with everyone! Woo hoo!

This weeks theme is SPRING, and we all got to play with the new CCDesigns Sugarplums Spring Kit. For my card I used Rainy Day Emma.
This new spring kit is available at All That Scraps and is adorable! Who doesn't love those Sugarplums?

I used some new springy designer paper from K&Company and my new Martha Stewart border punch. The sentiment is also a C.C. Design, Amy R Sentiment that I thought went well with Rainy Day Emma! I coloured her with my copics and added some crystal lacquer to her raincoat and rubber boots. I also added some little buttons to her coat for some added dimension!

So head over to The Pink Elephant Challenge blog and play along with this fun SPRING challenge! You'll see an amazing little display from the design team that will definately get your mojo flowin! What a great way to start the week! Happy Monday everyone!

3 Buttons Challenge over at The Town Scrapper!

Good Friday morning everyone! You ready for the weekend? I am, woo hoo!

Today over at The Town Scrapper is the start of another fun challenge. This weeks challenge is called 3 Buttons Challenge! Thats it, plain and simple, just incorporate 3 buttons (no more, no less) into your card creation. Here's my sample:I used the brand new Victoria Case stamp Evan which is now being sold exclusively at the Town Scrapper! There's more adorable stamps being released so stay tuned for some sneek peeks in the near future!

I personally love these stamps because the little Evan boy reminds me of my son. He is much older now, these pictures were taken a few years ago....sigh! Where does the time go?

I better move on before I abandon this post to run and grab my son's scrapbooks for a trip down memory lane....(you all know what I'll be doing this afternoon...lol)

I stamped Evan onto Bella's Bestest Paper (my fav) and coloured him in using my copics!

I always struggle with masculine cards, so the button theme worked out well! What a great Father's Day card this stamp makes! This card is pretty simple, all the paper, buttons etc...was from my stash drawer (that I'm always trying to whittle down).

We would love to see your 3 button creations, be sure to swing by The Town Scrapper and link up your card for your chance to win a great little prize!

Another Note:

Phebe at The Town Scrapper is hosting a super Fundraising Event on March 27th, 2010 in Petrolia Ontario. This cardmaking event will run from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. She has planned three separate demos with three of her brand new Victoria Case images! The Demos will include watercoloring by Phebe, and copic demonstrations by Melanie and myself. I can't wait to see these ladies in action, their techniques and colouring are amazing! As I'm NOT copic certified I will just be sharing how I colour with my copics, and what works best for me. I am looking forward to having lots of fun, meeting new people and making some great cards! If you are interested, please contact Phebe as she only has a few spots left! Looking forward to seeing you there!

Well thats it for today's post, have a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

I coloured Owie with my copic markers and shaded around him using prisma color pencils (gotta get to one of those classes!). The DP is from Basic Grey. I added a strip of SU polkadot ribbon and the funky stitched fabric tree is from Prima's fabric shapes line.

I'm entering this card over at Sketch and Stash Challenge blog. I followed their great sketch and as for the stash count? I used my Brand new BabyBud Owie stamp from C.C.Designs and also the Prima Fabric Tree that I've been dyin' to incorporate on a card!

This card is also for the challenges over at:

Today, The Town Scrapper Challenge is all about a WARM WEATHER! Bright flowers, summer activities, well the possibilities are endless! So head on over and submit your Warm Weather card for your chance to win some NEW rubber from the new release!!!!

For this card I used the sweet image "Sophie Feeding the Birds"! What a fun image to colour! I love her hair! I tried to make it as summery as possible so I chose a bright yellow for the card base. This paper is embossed with lots of flowers and sunbursts - its soooo pretty, perfect for this theme. Everything you see above, can be found at The Town Scrapper - I just love the new dp from Imaginisce too. Sophie is coloured with copic markers. I added some stickles to the flowers on her shorts and the ribbon on her hat. And of course I had to add lots of prima flowers to finish it off!!!

The weather is beautiful here today! Maybe I'll go feed the birds somewhere!!! Yay for spring!!!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!

You are Unique!

This friday's challenge at Stamping Bella is Polkadots! I finally got to use the adorable Stamping Bella Stamp called You are Unique. I especially chose this stamp because I'm entering this into a contest this weekend and the theme is all about women's day, 'friendship', 'strength of women' etc... This is one of the cards I'm entering. This stamp reminds me of that dove campaign - which I LOVE! Sending the message to young girls to love yourself just the way you are!

I think I got carried away with the flower/ribbon embellishment but I saw some great new 'do it yourself' flowers in the new scrapbooks etc. magazine, and I had to try it! Plus it used up all my little scrap ribbon pieces that I never know what to do with!

As usual I coloured the image in with my copic markers and added some stickles and popped it on the card base. The little squiggles coming out from under the button was actually created by mistake. I love using my Karen Foster Scrappers Floss for the centre of buttons, a few days ago I ended up permanently adhering a button down with the long paper strings hanging out, so instead of 'losing' it, I took the end of a very fine paintbrush and twirled it to create a little swirly! I love how good things come from mistakes!

Enjoy your day!
