Thank you card..featuring Jack!!!

Today I'm introducing another new BabyBudDesign, JACK!!! He is absolutely one of my very favourites!!! I think he looks so sweet and innocent, and I just love his curly hair!!! This card works for the challenge at Quixotic (One for the boys). I could see a little boy giving this to his dad or grandfather! How cute!

I coloured him up using my copic markers and added some shading with my prismacolour pencils. I added some red brads as buttons to his jumper. The cute little sentiment is AmyR Sentiments from CCDesigns. I added some buttons tied with Stampin up linen thread, and followed this awesome tutorial from one of my favorite blogs, check it out here. The paper is Stampin up and the dp is from chatterbox!

Well this is a quickie post, off to get the kids from school and do some bowlin!

Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

If you can't beat 'em...join 'em!!!

So lately I've been pouting, sulking, whining and complaining about everything 'winter' and trying to force spring to make myself feel better...I came across this new MFT Pure Innocence stamp I got at Christmas and haven't inked up yet. I loved this when I saw it (pre winter) and just had to use it.

One of my New Year's resolutions was to use up the stamps I haven't broken out of the package or inked up yet, BEFORE buying new ones....ya, like that lasted long...anyone have the same problem? Well, since we were hit with the flurry of snowflakes that would seem normal to Hagrid (you know, the giant from Harry Potter?) I thought, why get upset over something I can't control? If you can't beat 'em, I say join 'em!!! And this was the product!!!
I stamped this sweet image on Bella's Bestest Paper using tuxedo black Memento Ink, and coloured her in with my copic markers. I'm going to start posting a picture of the markers I use, so the next time I want to achieve the same look I know which markers to grab instead of guessing...I always forget!
I cut her out using my rectangle nesties and matted her on the blue dp from My Minds Eye. The pretty pink snowflake dp is from WeRMemory Keepers, and I fell in love when I saw it!!! I added some glitter to the snow and created the snowflake embellishment by punching out a snowflake using my Creative Memories punch and colouring it with my copic markers to make it match. Perfect for the current challenge over at Copic Creations, (Coloring your Embellishments). I added a rhinestone brad, which I also coloured, to the centre. I used some organza ribbon with my boweasy for the ribbon at the bottom. Oh ya, I did some stitching too!

Anyway, I'm gonna go make some hot chocolate for me and the kids!

Have a great night, thanks for stoppin by!

A flower for you...

I can't stop making springy type cards, I've had enough of winter and we've still got a little bit to go. It also doesn't help that we get little spring teasers. Yesterday was gorgeous!!! Spring type weather, snow melting, kids outside (we even had a few kids selling koolaid on our street) I was sooo ready...until I woke up this morning to snow flakes the size of maple leaves!!! No joke! So anything with flowers and bright cheery papers makes me happy right now!
Today I'm introducing a simply adorable image from BabyBudDesigns, her name is Livvie! I used Bella's Bestest paper and coloured her with my copic markers. I attempted the grass technique again using my prismacolour pencils, I'll get it one day...

I used my Large Labels Nesties to cut her out and my swiss dots embossing folder to add a little something to the pink cardstock. The cutsey patterned paper is by Doodlebug Designs & Sentiment by Stamping Bella! I also added some brads to the corners of the image and to the centre of the little flower she's holding!

I hope you like her as much as I do....there's many more new designs coming, so stay tuned for some exciting news and some BIG blog candy!!!

Keep warm! And think SPRING! Thanks for stopping by!

Let the fairy in you fly....KKS Challenge!

I hope everyone had a great Valentines day!!! Today is family day and we all have the day off, how nice! We even had some family come visit for a few days, which has made my weekend! Us girls even had a chance to get 'crafty'!

I made this card for the current challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie's Stamps Blog, this week the challenge is called 'Stash the booty' a perfect theme for one of the new releases at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. The new Annie Rodrigue line is all about pirates, too cute!!! You are supposed to have a 'hidden' element on your card. Since I don't have any of the new stamps to stash some real pirate booty, I chose this beautiful KKS image called bird fairy.I thought so hard to get creative with this one, but Melanie, this was definately a 'challenge' for me! So I pulled out a hinge from my stash and hid the sentiment (which comes with the fairy stamp) underneath a little panel....I know...boring! But I must say it was FUN doing it!!!!

I coloured her up using my lightest shades of copic markers, I had so many markers on my desk by the end it was actually humorous! I shaded a little bit around the edges with prismacolour pencil to soften it up. Then came the stickles galore!!! I added some turquoise to her wings, some crystal to her hair, belt, and ribbon laces around her legs and some diamond stickles to the bird. The dp is from Little Yellow Bicycle and the solid card stock is Bazzill. To see a close up of the gorgeous detail on this stamp you can double click the pictures!

I had so much fun colouring this image, the possibilities are endless!!!! Everyone should have one of these in their stash!!! Well off to spend more time with the fam! Hope you enjoy your day! Thanks for stopping by!

A big ol' Birthday Blog Hop at The Pink Elephant!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLA! Today The Pink Elephant challenge blog is celebrating its 1 year birthday by having a big ol' blog hop! And when I say big I mean big! So I'll try keep this short and sweet! If you just came from Michelle you're in the right place! If you just stumbled upon the hop and want to start from the very beginning click here!

I jumped at the chance to participate in this Birthday Blog Hop, especially because The Pink Elephant is one of my favourite challenge blogs! We were supposed to pick one of our favourite challenges from the last year and re-create a card! I chose Challenge #46 - a Sketch! I love a good sketch, especially clean and simple ones like this one.

Here are the details of my card...I appropriately chose this adorable Elephant stamp from Whipper Snapper called Huckabee. I coloured her in with my copics and shaded using some prismacolor pencils. The pink cardstock is all Bazzill, and the cupcake patterned dp is from Doodlebug Designs. The bottom scallop is from my Fiskars border punch and the sentiment is a Kraftin Kimmie Stamp!

This cute lil Elephant even got all dolled up for the party with some pink nail polish (used my glaze pen to make it glossy), added some glitter and a cute little bow on her head! I couldn't resist adding the Fancy Pants crocheted flower with a SU button and flat back pearl in the centre to finish it off! I hope Ella likes it hehe! Well so much for short and sweet, your next stop is Mummylade, thanks for stopping by! If you get lost along the way just go back to the start and the whole list is there! Have fun!

A Sketch and a Lollipop!!!

Here's my take on the sketch this week over at Stamping Bella. I used the ever so cute Stamping Bella "Pookie Lollipop" stamp! Very sweet! This will also work for the challenge over at Crazy4Challenges Blog since the theme is 'Lollipops'!, and also for The Pink Elephant Challenge - All About Pink!

Here are the details on the card...as usual I coloured using my copic markers. The shading and grass was done with Prismacolor pencils. I have been trying these out for shading lately, a technique I've yet still to master....I need to take a few classes, but its fun giving it a whirl anyway! I also tried the Feather Blending Technique on the flower petals. It's being featured over on the Copic Creations Blog. I love this look so I decided to give it a try, I need to practice more! For the flower pot I added some Crackle Accents, I smudged a little part of the pot so I got crafty and added that little tiny bow to cover up my goof! I also attempted to stitch again, something thats getting easier everytime I do it!

Anyway TGIF!!!! Hope you all have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Flowers Flowers Flowers!!!

What makes me feel better about trying to get through the rest of winter? The thought of spring! So I happily entered this weeks Humble Pie Challenge - FLOWERS! I chose the adorable CCDesigns stamp Leisl and her Wheelbarrow, which I picked up at The Town Scrapper last summer. I haven't had the chance to ink her up yet and thought this was the perfect occasion! Be sure to visit the Humble Pie Stamps Blog and check out The Bakers' wonderful creations! Also, Phebe still has her amazing sale going on right now until February 14th, click on The Town Scrapper icon on my side bar for more info!
I coloured her using my copic markers. I tried to pick colours to match the adorable My Minds Eye dp that I've had in my stash, sittin there, just waiting for the perfect time to use it! I stamped the image twice and cut out her 'stickled' wing, curled the end and glued it on top of the other one to give it some dimension. The teeny tiny flowers I've also had in my stash forever, were originally white but also coloured them with my copics to match the colours chosen. I added tiny pearls to the centres and piled them in the wheelbarrow! The cute sentiment is a Humble Pie stamp which goes just perfect with this theme! I used my Martha Stewart Arch Lattice border punch, some stitched ribbon and a button to finish it all off! This card was sooo much fun to make!

Here's hopin' for an early spring, darn that silly groundhog!!!

Owl love you forever...

I LOOOVE owls!!! One of my favorite commercials when I was a kid was for the Tootsie Pop, where that cute little owl with the funny voice would ask how many licks to get to the centre of the tootsie pop? Anyone remember? Anyway, thats why I couldn't resist this adorable stamp 'Cuddly Owls' from Stamping Bella.
I coloured up the Cuddly Owls using my copic markers. In my little world Owls come in all colours, and pink is no exception. I even gave them some blue eyeshadow, I couldn't resist!
I've been dyin' to use the new Pink Paislee (Cupids Collection) paper and the blue hearts matched perfect. I used my new Martha Stewart 'Arch Lattice' border punch (which I'm in love with by the way!) Then to finish it off I added some adorable little crocheted flowers from Fancy Pants Designs with a button in the centre. I did use my glaze pen on the hearts and the beaks but for some reason my camera never picks it up unless I'm outside and its too darn cold right now lol!

I also entered a few challenges this week. You can get this great sketch over at Friday Sketchers, also Papertake Weekly has a theme challenge called 'Love Actually' (anything lovey dovey) and The Pink Elephant has a colour challenge, All about Pink - In Honor of Ella. Check them all out, there are some great cards out there!
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!
