Hoot Hoot Hooray!

I've had this adorable stamp set forever (Q.T. Hooty Owl by Pink Cat Studios) and haven't had the opportunity to use them. I needed to make up a super quick birthday card the other day and new knew it wouldn't take me too long to colour up this cutie hooty owl!! I didn't get too fancy cause I had no time to fuss with it like I usually do. It turned our very plain and simple. Sometimes I sit there forever trying to figure out how to lay out the card etc....but I found that being under pressure left me no time to hum and haw over what to do, and before I knew it, it was done!!! Hope you're enjoying your weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

You Brighten My World!!!

This past weekend I was supposed to attend a 'crop weekend' here in London, but due to our busy schedule I was only able to go for a little bit on Saturday! Well I was supposed to go for the whole day but I ended up having a Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day lol (if you have kids you may be familiar with that book), I SO wanted to move to Australia just like Alexander...lol!!! The good part about my day was that I was able to hang with my friends, meet some great new gals, and I finally finished this layout I've been working on forever!!!

I saw this layout in the Spring 2009 issue of Scrapbook & Cards today (p23) and promised myself I would attempt it. Although it took a while and after scrounging for what seemed like a gazillion embellies, I am very pleased with the finished product. In fact it is probably going to go in a frame and put in my daughters room. As complicated as it looks it was pretty simple to do. Here's what I did: I used white Bazzill cardstock for the top layer and just plain white for the background. I used my CM Circle Cutters and cut random circles of different sizes. I chalked the edges with different colours. I used a pencil to trace the circle onto the background paper. Then I was on the hunt for embellishments of any kind....most of which came from Scrappin Great Deals! (also raided my friends stash's too!) I filled in the circles with as many embellishments as possible. I used my cricut (cuttin up font) for the saying. I stamped the butterfly (one of my favorite parts of the layout) (Basic Grey Wisteria Flutter Stamp - thanks to Shanda ) and completely cut it out, added some bling, curled the edges and popped it on the edge of the picture to fill in the empty space. Finito!
Looking forward to the next weekend crop with my gals!!!
I hope you have a great day!

Miss you!

I made this card because I forsee sending it to one of the many people I will be missing when we move in a few weeks. Its always good to be prepared!!! This is one of my favorite 'Gorjuss Girl' Sugar Nellie Stamps I got from Funkykits. I coloured this image with my copics, then cut it out and pop dotted it on a scalloped nestie! The adorable paper is by American Crafts and the sentiment is from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps! I think I might need more than just one of this card, I'm gonna get to work on a few more!!!
Hope you had a great weekend!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps 1st Challenge!!!

I've been waiting for this all week!!! The very first Kraftin Kimmie Stamps Challenge!!!! Last week I made it out to the launch party at Scrappin' Great Deals - I wouldn't have missed it for anything!!! Sheila put on a great lil party and the turnout for Kimmie was amazing. There were some very incredibly talented ladies there, it was alot of fun and of course I scooped up some rubber!!! I met some great people and got to see a demo from the amazing Crissy Armstrong! What a treat! It was definately a huge success and I'm so happy for Kimmie!

So, the theme for the first challenge on Kraftin Kimmie Stamps Challenge Blog is 'Birthday'. I used Lillith for my card and I think she's so cheeky, I love her!!! I paper pieced her dress and bow with patterned paper by Heidi Grace Designs, and colored the rest with my copics. I added some stickles to the tulle' under her dress, her barettes and shoes, and used my clear glaze pen to add some gloss to the frog on her head! I added some prima flowers and the little glossy green brad I had in my stash. All three sentiments shown on the cards are Kimmie's Sentiments. You won't be dissapointed with these sentiments, you get 38 sayings - that's unheard of LOL!!!

This was a fun challenge, can't wait for the next one!!!

Have a great Thanksgiving weekend!!

Dream Big!!!

I am going thru some major card making withdrawl (LOL), and yesterday I got a scrappy little package in the mail from my friend Lisa as a thank you for being a guest designer for SSDS, thanks Lisa, it was great! So I set aside some time to do some stampin', and boy did I ever need it!!! Making cards is my outlet and with all the hype of moving, etc...I was feeling the need to get my hands all inky!!! I got this stamp from Funkykits, its a Sugar Nellie stamp and this one is called Moon Beam by Leanne Ellis. I totally fell in love with this one and just had to have it!!! I coloured her using pencil crayons and gamsol (oms). I have been playing around with this technique and find it alot of fun. It gives a pretty muted and soft look, which is completely different from the bright bold colours of the copics! I love trying new things and get inspired by all of the amazing blogs I follow! Anyway, my hubby was the inspiration for this card. Ever since we've been together he has always wanted to own a Canadian Tire store. This past month his 'big dream' came true due to years of hard work and determination. I'm 'over the moon' and so very proud of him and truly believe you can do anything you set your mind to!

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by,

Hi there, a few weeks back I had posted some blog candy for the Humble Pie's Sweetie Pie Stamps blog hop. The winner I chose, 'SELENA', hasn't claimed the prize yet, so....I will be picking another winner and will post it tomorrow if I don't hear from her by tonight. Its such a cute little halloween card kit, I would hate for Halloween to pass by with this little bundle sitting on my desk waiting to be used!! Not to mention it getting packed away in a box during our move! Be sure to check back tomorrow to see if your name has been picked. I will be choosing at random a comment from the original blog hop. Good luck! Also be sure take a look at the new Humble Pie Stamps Blog, and check out the ever so talented 'Bakers'!!! Have a great day!
